Learn AuctionBot in ten minutes.

From inviting the bot to the first SOLD: what admins, sellers, bidders and staff need to know.

1. Add the bot

  1. Press Add to Discord and choose Add to a server. You need the Manage Server permission on that server.
  2. Keep every permission ticked. The bot needs them to create channels, roles and tickets.
  3. Check that AuctionBot appears in your member list. Your 7-day free trial starts on its own.

Tip: in Server Settings β†’ Roles, drag the AuctionBot role above the roles it has to give, like the Auction Pings role or your member rank roles.

2. Set up your server

Type /setup start. AuctionBot shows its default template: time rooms (6, 12 and 24 hours), Base, Blueprint and RMT rooms, and the Auction Hub.

  • Confirm & Create builds everything as shown.
  • Customize lets you tick the room types to create, open one to rename it or change its rooms, duration and seller pings, and choose who can host and who can bid.
  • Switch on Chibi, Dragon Hoard Keys, Hexagon or the member rank rooms (Booster, Prestige, Reserved). Rank rooms need a role: only members with it can host there. Rename them as you like.
  • Add Room Type creates your own. Hub Channels and Tickets & Roles rename the rest.

Run /setup start again later to add room types. Existing channels are kept. Use /setup view to see your whole configuration.

3. Host an auction

  1. Go to γ€ŽπŸ”¨γ€create-auction and press Create Auction.
  2. Choose the room type, then the item category.
  3. Fill in the item, the duration, the start price, the increment, the currency, and optional Buy Now stock.
  4. Press Upload Images and pick your pictures, up to 20.
  5. Check the preview and press Submit.

The bot puts your auction in a free room. If every room is busy, it waits in the queue with the shortest wait and you get a DM when it starts. You can cancel it with /auction cancel while it is still in the queue.

4. Bid

  • Bid places the minimum next bid.
  • Custom Bid lets you type your amount.
  • Auto-Bid bids for you up to a secret maximum.
  • Follow sends you a DM before the end.

A bid in the last minutes extends the auction (anti-snipe). You get a DM when someone outbids you. Choose your DMs with /notifications.

5. Buy Now

When the seller offers several units at a fixed price, press Buy Now and choose the quantity. The units are held for you and a private ticket opens with the seller. The auction keeps running for everyone else.

If the trade is cancelled, the units go back on sale. A Buy Now ticket with no message for 12 hours is cancelled.

6. Trade tickets

The winner and the seller each get a DM and a private ticket, for example πŸ†win-a5-seller-winner.

  1. Both press πŸ“ Trade Info: payment, delivery or pickup details. It is saved for your next trades.
  2. Complete the trade.
  3. Both press βœ… Confirm Sale.
  4. Rate each other from 1 to 5 stars. Ratings show on /profile and on your auctions.

7. Staff tools

Staff are members with Manage Server or the staff role chosen in the setup. In a ticket they can Claim it or Force Close it. In the logs, View details shows everything about an auction or a ticket.

  • /staff cancel cancels an auction. The seller and every bidder get a DM.
  • /staff removebid removes a bid.
  • /staff backout gives a strike to a winner who backs out. The seller then offers the item to the next bidder or relists it.
  • /staff strike, /staff strikes, /staff unstrike, /staff ban, /staff unban manage sanctions. A ban can come automatically after a number of strikes.

8. Rules and limits

/setup rules changes anti-snipe, the minimum increment, the early end of auctions without bids, the strike limit and the ban length. /setup category sets how many auctions a member can run at once in each item category, with different limits for roles such as boosters.

Testing? /setup test_mode enabled:True allows 1 to 10 minute auctions. Turn it off before real use.

9. Your subscription

  • /subscription shows your plan, its limits and its end date.
  • To subscribe, open a ticket in our Discord, pay with the method of your choice, and receive a license key.
  • Type /activate with your key on your server.

You get a reminder 3 days before the end. When a subscription ends, new auctions stop and everything else is kept.
